Head Coach, Junior Team
Miriam Baer gets results. Consistently.
Miriam has been developing high school junior rowers into athletes with the refined technique, strength, perseverance, and determination to win races since 1983. She has coached future Olympic champions and enabled athletes to capture rowing scholarships at prestigious colleges.
Miriam is supported by an assistant coach to ensure there are two launches on the water with the junior team at all times.
Head Coach, Open Team
Craig has been rowing and coaching since 1996. He is a five-time US National Champion and has placed in the top three at US World Championship, Pan American Games, and Olympic trials on multiple occasions.
Craig‘s coaching experience includes high school, college, senior, master, and elite level athletes, with those he has coached earning national titles at the US Scholastic Championships, IRA and NCAA Championships, and US Master’s National Championships, as well as competing on behalf of the US National Team at the World Championships.
He has rowed and coached across the country, mostly training and working with athletes in the Twin Cities and Philadelphia, PA.
Head Coach, Masters Team
Rhiannon Williams joined the Minnesota Boat Club coaching staff in 2017. She learned to row at the University of Minnesota in their learn to row program and then began rowing as a Novice at the Minneapolis Rowing Club (MRC) twelve years ago. Over the past seven years she has taught many rowers how to row, coached Minnesota Boat Club (MBC) Masters, Macalester College crew team, as well as a few MRC programs. Rhiannon has coached a variety of ages, athletic abilities, and fitness levels. She is "in love with the sport and everything that goes along with it". As a coach she wants to teach rowing technique, and also convey a love of the sport and the Mississippi River.
Head Coach, Novice Team
Kurt joined MBC as a junior and rowed in college at the University of Minnesota. He won a gold medal in the lightweight men's 4+ at the American Collegiate Rowing Championships and represented MBC at the U23 World Championships trials in 2014. Kurt has been an assistant coach at MBC over the years and started coaching the novice team in 2017.
